Last year we scaled Pikes Peak, this year we toured the Iowa Great Lakes,
Next year we will be exploring the Mississippi River area around Muscatine, IA,
We made it through another GAMARAI in pretty good shape this year. Luckily, while the weather wasn't perfect, the main days of touring weren't a washout. Most of the rain was on our way there and on the way back to Des Moines. With all the rain we have had over the last month we were blessed. This year was so much better than last on breakdowns. As far as I know all we dealt with was a minor ignition issue and a flat tire or two. It is so much nicer when everyone is running well. Hopefully everyone enjoyed our driving routes and our stops. The longest day was almost 150 miles. That is what we consider as a maximum distance for one day. Those Model A seats and our aging backs don't appreciate any more than that. We continued to use 45 mph as a touring speed. That is well within the capability of a stock Model A. I understand that some prefer to travel faster and some slower. Hopefully, that is a happy medium.

Next year's GAMARAI is already in the planning stages. We are looking east to the Mississippi River town of Muscatine and surrounding area. We haven't been there in a long time. If you have a favorite place to stop around there or any suggestions, please let us know. We should have some particulars around the March time frame. The dates will be the fourth week of September 2027. Stay tuned.
